Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs held a grand opening today (12th) at the "2023 Taiwan Innovation Technology Expo" Innovation Navigation Pavilion at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, "Decrypting Technological Treasures", bringing together 14 R&D institutes, including the Industrial Research Institute, the Metal Center, the Textile Institute, and the Vehicle Center. The results of corporate research and development select 80 innovative technologies that can promote Taiwan's industrial upgrading or create emerging industries, focusing on industries such as semiconductors, smart manufacturing, biomedicine and textiles, and use net-zero emission solutions to join hands with major manufacturers to capture the international market and create New entrepreneurial teams inject vitality into the industry and create new business opportunities for the industry.

Qiu Qiuhui, Director of the Industrial Technology Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, said that there are two highlights of the technology exhibited in the "Decrypted Technology Treasures" special hall this time: First, it displays 80 innovative results that can provide assistance to industrial development. More than 100,000 yuan are invested in science and technology projects every year. Tens of billions of funds have been spent to link market demand, innovate and develop forward-looking technologies, and have joined hands with major manufacturers to seize new business opportunities in fields such as semiconductors and net-zero emissions. The second is to transform innovation into innovative thinking and encourage the industrialization of R&D results, establishing Start up companies and create new industries.

Taiwan is a major semiconductor producer. The Department of Industrial Technology of the Ministry of Economic Affairs uses innovative technology to support the Industrial Research Institute in research and development of "wafer probing", the first step in semiconductor yield rate. As semiconductors develop towards advanced manufacturing processes, the size of the grains and electrodes on the wafers are also constantly shrinking, and more delicate probes are needed to detect yield. ITRI has developed the world's leading "high-strength and high-density probe card" to solve three major pain points in the industry: First, to address the problem of insufficient fineness and hardness, it uses high-hardness ternary alloy metallization technology and cantilevered composite micro-electromechanical probes , developed a probe below 20 microns, which has nearly doubled from 16 grains to 30 grains measured at a time, and has sufficient hardness. Each set of probe cards can be touched up to 500,000 times; the second is to modify the current manual needle mounting. For automation, double-sided alignment bonding technology is used to reduce assembly manpower and costs; thirdly, it has the ability to detect high-frequency chips, using laser-triggered metallization technology to produce 3D metal circuits, simplifying probe card circuit design, and can test satellite communications such as , next-generation IC, micro-LED and other high-end chips. Currently, it has cooperated with Taiwan's major semiconductor manufacturers to help Taiwan's advanced packaging and testing technology continue to lead the world.

At the Innovation Expo (TIE), you can also see that the Department of Industrial Technology of the Ministry of Economic Affairs is aiming at the trend of net-zero emissions and supporting the metal center to develop "recycled multi-state conversion materials" to transform waste oyster shells and waste stones into innovative green materials, combined with 3D Print stacking technology. It can be transformed into different properties through blending and application, and can be used as industrial high-temperature resistant materials with water-soluble disintegration properties, such as: shell molds for precision casting, refractory bricks, filter stones and other products, or coral restoration for ecological coral restoration in the marine environment. We can cultivate substrates, combined fish reefs or large fish reefs, and cooperate with the Marine Science Museum, Taiwan Mountain and Sea Angel Environmental Conservation Association, Delta Education Foundation, and Marine Aquarium to restore the marine environment.

The physical exhibition of "Decrypting Technological Treasures" at the Innovation Navigation Hall of the Innovation Expo will be held until October 15, and the online exhibition will be held until March 6, 2024. All walks of life are welcome to visit and negotiate! Watch Innovation Navigation Hall Technology Online: https://online.inventaipei.com.tw/zh-tw/index.html

Including this technology, a total of 82 items will be displayed for industrial development. Providing supporting innovation results, technology projects continue to innovate and develop forward-looking technologies, and have joined hands with major manufacturers to jointly seize new business opportunities in fields such as smart textiles, sports technology, and drones.)
