ITRI: Taiwan's semiconductor output value will exceed NT$6 trillion for the first time in 2025, an increase of 16.2%

According to statistics from the Industrial Technology Research Institute's International Industrial Science and Technology Research Institute, Taiwan's semiconductor industry output value exceeded NT$5 trillion for the first time in 2024, reaching NT$5.3151 trillion, an increase of 22.4%. It is expected that the output value will further exceed the NT$6 trillion mark in 2025, reaching NT$6.1785 trillion, an increase of another 16.2%.
The Industrial Technology Research Institute's International Industrial Science and Technology Research Institute pointed out that Taiwan's IC manufacturing output value will reach NT$3.4195 trillion in 2024, an increase of 28.4%, making it the fastest growing sub-industry in Taiwan's semiconductor industry. TSMC's total revenue will climb to NT$2.8943 trillion in 2024, driven by strong growth in its high-performance computing and smartphone platforms, becoming the main growth driver for Taiwan's IC manufacturing industry.
Taiwan's IC design industry's output value in 2024 will be NT$1.2721 trillion, an increase of 16%; the IC packaging industry's output value will be NT$423.3 billion, an increase of 7.7%; and the IC testing industry's output value will be NT$200.2 billion, an increase of 5%.
According to estimates by Occupational Science International, the output value of Taiwan's semiconductor industry is expected to reach NT$6.1785 trillion in 2025, an increase of 16.2%. Among them, the output value of the IC manufacturing industry will exceed the NT$4 trillion mark, reaching NT$4.827 trillion, an increase of 19.4%. It will still be the main driving force for the growth of Taiwan's semiconductor industry output value, with TSMC as the main driving force.
The International Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology estimates that the output value of Taiwan's IC design industry will be approximately NT$1.4155 trillion in 2025, an increase of 11.3%, and the output value of the IC packaging industry will be NT$460.8 billion, an increase of 8.9%. The output value of the IC testing industry was 219.5 billion yuan, an increase of 9.6%.
The International Institute of Occupational Science stated that Taiwan's semiconductor industry's output value growth in 2024 will be 19.1% higher than the global semiconductor industry's level, and in 2025, Taiwan's semiconductor industry's output value growth will continue to be higher than the global semiconductor industry's 11.2%.
