Taiwanese PCB manufacturers are actively setting up factories in Southeast Asia, with Thailand being the hottest. These include Huatong (2313), Xinxing (3037), Zhen Ding-KY (4958), and Jinxiang Electronics (2368). Production capacity will be gradually increased, and the first wave of trial production will officially enter in the first half of 2025, gradually building a Thai PCB industry ecosystem.
Observing the trial production schedule of major PCB factories in Thailand, Huatong's new factory in Thailand has opened. It is Huatong's first production base in Southeast Asia. At present, all equipment has been installed for trial operation and production line adjustment is going smoothly. In the initial stage, it will produce satellite product hard boards. As a priority, it is expected to enter full-process mass production in the first quarter of 2025, and the product structure and production capacity will be improved subsequently depending on customer demand.
Xinxing's new plant in Thailand has been completed and will soon start trial production and customer certification. It is expected to be put into production in the first quarter of 2025. Initially, it plans to produce game consoles, automotive products and modular orders. In the future, it will further plan AI and high-performance computing. (HPC) and other related products, and gradually increase production.
Zhen Ding's new plant in Thailand has also completed installation, and is expected to start trial production in the second quarter of 2025, and strive to enter mass production in the second half of the year. Although the initial production capacity will not be too large, it will also focus on the production of high-end servers, automotive, and optical module-related applications. , strengthening the resilience of the global PCB supply chain.
The new plant of Golden Image Electronics in Thailand is expected to start mass production in the third quarter of 2025. In the initial stage, it will mainly produce mid-range products such as general-purpose servers. After flexible scheduling to relieve existing orders, it will move into AI servers and network communications. High-end products such as the iPod and iPod Touch lay the foundation for future growth momentum.
Inspired by international customers, the PCB industry has gradually shifted its investment to Southeast Asia in recent years, mainly to diversify uncertain risks such as excessive production concentration and to gain new order opportunities. Although Thailand's PCB supply chain is still in its early stages of development, coupled with the learning curve costs of language, culture and folk customs, industry players value the advantages of Southeast Asia in terms of abundant labor and low labor costs, reducing geopolitical risks, thereby improving efficiency and meeting customer needs. .
In the past, Thailand's PCB industry was mainly dominated by Japanese companies and Thai businessmen, and there were only three Taiwanese PCB companies, such as Tai Ding, Jing Peng and Jing Yi. As major board manufacturers gradually move in and enter different application fields, the Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) expects that Thailand's PCB output value will account for more than 5% of the global market in 2026, driving overall economic benefits.
