SIA: Global semiconductor sales reached US$56.9 billion in October, reaching a new high

According to statistics from the U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), global semiconductor sales reached US$56.9 billion in October, an increase of 2.8% from September, a new high, and an increase of 22.1% from the same period last year.
SIA pointed out that semiconductor sales in the Americas increased by 8.3% monthly and 54% annually in October, with the largest monthly and annual increases; sales in Europe increased by 1.3% monthly and decreased by 7% annually, and sales in China increased by 1% monthly and 17% annually. Sales in Japan increased by 0.2% monthly and 7.4% annually, while sales in Asia-Pacific and other regions decreased by 0.7% monthly and increased by 12.1% annually.
SIA said that global semiconductor sales have grown for seven consecutive months, and total sales are expected to grow by nearly 20% in 2024, higher than previous expectations, and are expected to continue to grow by double-digit percentages in 2025.
The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) has recently raised its forecast for semiconductor sales in 2024, which is expected to increase by 19% to US$626.9 billion; it will further reach US$697.2 billion in 2025, an increase of 11.2% from this year.
