(Central News Agency reporter Jiang Mingyan, Taipei, 27th) The PCB industry chain is advancing in Thailand. A survey by the Taiwan Circuit Board Association (TPCA) found that it is estimated that by the end of 2027, there will be a demand for nearly 3,000 engineers and managers. For companies striving for mass production timeliness, This is a huge challenge. TPCA has been planning the "International PCB Talent Cultivation Program" since 2024, and it is expected to implement talent matching in the first quarter of 2025.

Taiwan's PCB industry chain has always taken advantage of cross-strait production operations. In recent years, in response to geopolitical changes, many companies have set up new investment plans in Southeast Asia since 2023, such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, to meet customers' needs for risk diversification Require.

Due to the relatively mature development of the PCB industry in Thailand, Thailand has become a popular choice for Taiwanese companies to expand their presence in Southeast Asia. Large circuit board companies from all over the world have settled in several major provinces and industrial parks in Thailand. So far, more than ten Taiwan-funded PCB factories have announced The establishment of a new factory in Thailand, which is expected to begin mass production in 2025, is expected to accelerate the substantial growth of Thailand's PCB output value.

At the same time, the supply chain has also followed PCB factories to set up bases in Thailand to serve customers nearby. It can be seen that the clustering benefits driven by this wave of investment have appeared and are still continuing.

Amid the boom in the PCB industry chain's southward expansion, there is a strong demand for international talents. The Taiwan Circuit Board Association (TPCA) launched a survey on overseas manpower needs at the beginning of this year and found that companies investing in and setting up factories in Thailand are expected to have nearly 3,000 employees by the end of 2027. The demand for talents for engineers and managers has surged in the short term. Recruiting local grassroots cadres and mid-level talents is an immediate and huge challenge for companies striving for mass production timeliness.

TPCA stated that it will start planning the "International PCB Talent Cultivation Program" in 2024, which includes industry promotion, course training, employment matching and retention incentives. It hopes to accelerate the expansion of talent training and employment matching through systematic promotion. The number of people with basic PCB knowledge who are quickly employed creates a long-term talent pipeline for overseas bases of the PCB industry.

TPCA pointed out that since the beginning of this year, TPCA has had frequent exchanges with many universities in Thailand and the Thai Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Office (NXPO) under the Ministry of Higher Education of Thailand, and has launched the first phase in Thailand from November 18th to 21st. "International PCB Talent Training Program" briefing sessions were held at King's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Khon Kaen University (KKU), and Suranali University of Technology (SUT). More than a hundred students participated in each session, and will be held later In the first quarter of 2025, virtual and real PCB basic process training and talent matching sessions will be implemented. Finally, TPCA will award retention rewards to those who participate in the program and serve in Taiwanese companies. (Editor: Zhang Junmao) 1131127
