Electronic paper giant E Ink's revenue in October was impressive. It has signed contracts with financial institutions such as Mega Bank to complete a joint loan of NT$12 billion (the same below). It has two major industries: e-book readers and electronic shelf labels. The field continues to receive orders.
E Ink announced last week that its consolidated revenue in October was 3.266 billion yuan, an annual increase of 79.8% and a monthly increase of 5.5%, becoming the highest revenue in a single month this year. The cumulative consolidated revenue from January to October was 25.754 billion yuan, an annual increase of 11.47%. At the same time last year, E Ink entered a transition period for electronic paper color technology conversion, which affected revenue performance. Now it has gradually recovered from the impact of technology conversion.
Mega Bank organized a 12 billion yuan joint loan project between E Ink and its subsidiaries including Yuanhan Materials and Sino-foreign Ancient and Modern, and the official signing was completed last week.
This joint loan project was jointly organized by Mega Bank as the co-organizer and quota management bank, Cooperative Treasury and South China Bank as the document manager. 14 financial institutions were also invited to participate, with a pledged loan amount of up to 22 billion yuan, which was oversubscribed. 1.83 times, E Ink's performance indicators in the ESG field have also been included in the joint loan credit conditions, showing that financial industry players have deep confidence in the future development of E Ink and its subsidiaries.
E Ink's core e-paper technology and products have ultra-low power consumption and low-carbon characteristics. According to the FTSE Russell Green Revenue 2.0 data model analysis, 99.9% of E Ink's revenue is green revenue. Have a positive impact and environmental benefits on the environment. We not only actively improve the sustainable design of e-paper technology from the product source, but also develop new technologies with lower energy consumption and less material use, so that e-paper products can exert excellent environmentally friendly effects.
In fact, e-paper technology has a wide range of applications. E Ink has recently received good news in e-book readers and electronic shelf labels (Electronic Shelf Label, ESL).
Amazon's newly released Kindle Colorsoft leads the Kindle series into the color reader market. It uses E Ink Kaleido e-paper display screens. Amazon also updates products for Kindle Scribe, Kindle Paperwhite and entry-level Kindle, making E Ink available in reader applications. We continue to receive orders.
In terms of ESL, Walmart’s ESL order demand is estimated to require 400 to 500 million pieces to replace paper labels on the shelves. Gan Fengyuan, general manager of E Ink Technology, revealed that in addition to the 150 million pieces shipped before the end of 2024, more than 300 million pieces will be shipped before the end of 2026. In addition, the three merchants have invested more than 450 million yuan in the shopping plan, and its subsidiary Meilianshe has launched an "electronic price card" introduction plan from the fourth quarter, and it is expected to be fully installed in July 2025.
